i think its all set up nice for SSL users that wanna try VDJ, can use your control vinyls, SL1, it imports your SSL crates and itunes stuff.
give the demo a try if youre tempted and let us know how you get on

Welcome DJ GRANDT!!! i too am a new user.....almost a month now!!! I came across VDJ from using AtomixMP3 for years(til I discovered I had a pirated copy! Sorry Atomix Productions! Have deleted it!) Been DJ-ing with cd's for a long time but wanted to make the switch to the digital world. I now have 8 successful, full length gigs(5 hours up here) at the club with VDJ and am loving it more everyday! So thanx to everyone for all the help and a merry Xmas to you!

Welcome DJ Grandt. Most of us have been over at the SSL forum as well. As Norway said, there are users and/or owners of SSL. Ask questions, we'll answer.

Hello Grandt, its good to see some of the SSL guys make the trip over here.
VDJ takes a beating on that forum, so its nice to see users take a peek for themselves.
It's a bit of a different group, kind of a melting pot of djs from all over the world playing all different styles.
What makes this place special where other forums have their concentrations of specialty djs like club or wedding or mobile etc...
So that brings mutual respect and a different perspective to each and every thread you will read here.
And that is what makes this place so special to all of us.
Welcome

VDJ already works with your SSL soundcard box, and VDJ also have open source timecode engine, so it can support any timecode , if a plugin is made. I think there is a SSL plugin available that makes it work 100%... (at least its tested at beta stage, not sure if its released yet)
If not available yet, SSL vinyls will still work kinda with VDJ, because the two softwares use almost identical timecode. There will be a 6% pitch offset, and needle-drop wont work, if you dont use the SSL plugin.
