Topic: K, so I bought a M- Audio Delta 1010 LT and I know theres a special setup, how??

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

K, so pretty much I remember reading that thedelta 1010lt was pretty much the best performance for latency and quality that you can get. So I made the leap, and now i'm staring at the medusa of PCI cards. This thing has SOOO many wires, its nuts. K, so whats the special settings that you have to do again? I know its something with the registry, but I forgot exactly what I have to do, and I didn't want to get started installing it untill I read on here what it was that I had to do.

Thanx in advance, look forward to actually having a working TCV setup (I'm praying)

Wow,

Can't believe no one else answered your questions since you originally posted.

I use the 1010lt and as for the "setup" with VDJ I went to the settings window and clicked sound setup. In that window I selected ASIO and it offered me several combinations of input / output features.

The cable link from the card has all your input / output connects (most RCA and a couple of XLR too). I simply looked at the plugs base to determine the input from the output (color coded difference) and the numbered position each show at the base of the connectors ( RCAs). Next I wired it to my (stand alone) mixer the way I wanted to use it.

My mixer has 4 inputs so #1 & #2 output is for main line and hooked into it's own line (1) on the mixer. Mixer input 2 is my back up DVD/CD/MP3 player. Mixer input 3 is the computer's main audio output (CPU's own built in soundcard) which I need for the media player or presenting any audio from the computer other than VDJ. Mixer input 4 is the "cue'" out from the 1010lt audio board, outputs 3 & 4 selected in the VDJ software.

Obviously there are other considerations when using Time Coded systems ... these will "input" to the 1010lt to then drive the software functions.

The 1010lt offers many different operations including input and output choices so it can be a bit "more" than just a simple 2 channel output sound card.

I considered with all the input and outputs using the two virtual deck's outputs on their own channel. However after testing this set up I prefer using one stereo main out and one stereo "cue" output as the software will send whichever deck is not playing out to the mains, right to cue. By wiring each deck separate I would have to be concerned about the audio settings for both decks all the time and cueing would have to be done with the deck's volume turned down as both will then be "live" to the mains.

So really consider how you want to use it and then wire it for that setup.

Hope some of this helps?

Yea, that kinda helps. And i've been wondering about that recently, after watching how this one guy setup his NUO4, but i'm not sure I really like that setup. I'm just so used to selecting what channel that I want to monitor, cause my headphone cue selector is like a dedicated crossfader on my DXM06, so its kinda like you just slide it to right, left, or middle and thats what your cueing.

I dunno, but for now I don't really need a controller for the program, as i'm JUST doing audio right now.

The "Special Setting" that I was talking about, is that you have to change something in the registry, but i'm not sure what you have to change???

does anyone know what i'm talking about? I have to do something to the registry...

I think mp3Rick has this card. PM him, he's a nice guy. I am also watching, as I could be interested in this card.

well, we'll see. I have actually NEVER seen virtualdj with TCV work exactly like a record, my MAYA44 USB sucks for this, but its great for my mobile setup, nice cheap card good sound quality. I'm getting into scratching now, actually pretty heavilty, and i'd like to have VDJ work like how I see everyone else is using it (Like actual vinyl) Sure, a full PC is more combersome to bring to a gig, but shit if you gonna bring 2 cases with turntables, a case for a mixer, etc... mine as well have another case for a computer/flat screen and have it done right.

I'll update as the story unfolds. Right now, I installed the card, read the manual, marked all the input/output rcas, and i'm about to install all drivers n stuff. we'll see what happens.

UPDATE:

K, so I installed all drivers, and finally located where the inputs are labeled 3/4/5/6/7/8 and so on.

I went by this blog
http://www.virtualdj.com/blog/SkiHog/blog3651.html

and it helped alot. This was the registry change that I was talking about (Gotta love this site, its got all kinds of resources)

Anywho, now I have a PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!

The problem is similar as to when I had my TCV going through my MAYA 44 usb. The music will be going, and I can scratch it, but when I hit autoconfig, it reads that timecode is at 0%, even though the red and green waves are jumping all around. Another thing, is that the sound coming out kinda sounds like its under water, doesn't sound very good. Another symptom, is that if I stop the record, the music kinda creeps forward and backward, and it kinds sounds like I have little ants scratching the record, bu ttheres no movement. I thought maybe it was the fact that the turntable wasn't grounded, but after I grounded it it still has the exact same problems...

Please help, I would love to stayt up to 5 am tonight and scratch the night away!!!!
