Topic: Hercules DJ Consoles - What's The Difference Between MK1 & Mk2

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Can someone please tell me why there is such a vast difference in price between the hercules dj console mk1 and mk2

the mk1 is RRP around £70 whereas the mk2 is around £130

yet when i looked at the spec there wasn't very much difference, i am planning to buy one and just wanted some advice,

thanks

MK2 have a better build and better jogwheels.
Plus have a soundcard included.

MK1 is without a soundcard, and many will testify to the buttons and jogs beeing unresponsive over time

so get mk2 ;)

If you buy the MK1 (mp3 version I think you mean) you will still have to buy a external sound card to preview and que up your next track with headphones.

Go for the MK2 version I did.

i have a mk2 in great shape im looking to get rid of for 200 Shipped. comes with vdj software

you cannot sell your software licence

unless you request it to be de registered

I have the Mk1..it does have a soundcard! Spend the extra money and get an MK2 because the buttons on the Mk1 are really useless. The soundcard is very resonable for the price considering you get a basic mixer also. Thats an excellent price for you also considering the Mk2 is approximately 275 UK Pounds for my country (Australia).

yeah, the mk1 does have a soundcard, but I assumed he really meant the mp3 version, as the mk1 shouldn't be in sale anymore.

MK1 = really old first version of the Hercules console (included soundcard, unresponsive buttons over time)

MP3 = new version of the mk1, but without the soundcard (more responsive, but same build and looks as mk1)

MK2 = new version, with included soundcard, and far better build than the above, and better jogwheels too

yeh i did mean the Mp3

thanks for that info and i think i'll go for the mk2
