Virtual DJ allows you to customize the steps of its core engine : the FAME (Fast Automated Mix Engine) algorithm.
These settings will change the behaviour of Virtual DJ when you use the 'Beatlock' button, the 'Synchronize' button, or the 'Automix' button, when you load a song, and in automix mode.

Auto BPM : Automatically change the pitch to match the BPM of the two desks
Auto Gain : Automatically change the gain to match the level of the two desks
Auto Pitch-Reset : in automix mode, resets slowly the pitch to 100% after each mix
Auto Mix : Set the Automix mode that VirtualDJ will use. You can select between four choices : Smart, Tempo, Fade, None.
Smart : VirtualDJ can select the best method to use in order to mix perfectly two songs together. Select Smart and VirtualDJ will analyse the songs to choose the correct mode.
Tempo : Force VirtualDJ to mix two songs in tempo.
Fade : Force VirtualDJ to mix two songs by fading the crossfader on a beat
None : VirtualDJ will mix the begin of the next song at the extreme end of the file of the current song
Scrolling : Set the scrolling direction
Disc : Set the speed of the rotation of the virtual Disc display on the desks. This settings also affects the scratch sound that you can perform on the discs.
Beatlock : Set the Beatlock mode : In Rigid mode (the default), the BeatLock will match the beats of both songs each time you start a desk, scratch, change the pitch or enter/exit a loop. In Elastic mode, the BeatLock will continuously match the beats of each songs on an internal clock. This way, even a disco song with an irregular beat will be stretched and become regular and mixable.
