Topic: Ecler NuO 5 (((to be or not to be))

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

hello all!!!

I am in the market for a new mixer.. I know VDJ says that it supports the Ecler Nuo 5 but is there a mapper that supports VDJ 4.2 or is that only for the Ecler Nuo 4. Also can the mixer be programed in such a way that you could push play with a button on that mixer?
Thanks Spun

The nuo4 and the nuo5 , and really all midi, can be mapped as you want.

The XML file inside VDJ install folder is just a preset file, and you can change the preset if you like, or you can map it manually.. ;)

The Nuo5 is not a MIDI Controller device - correct? You can't send VDJ any commands right? The wording below is considerably different in the way Ecler describes it for the NUO4.

MIDI out
The NUO5 includes a MIDI output and features start and stop commands to activate and deactivate your devices and a clock to adjust the tempo.

hum, you might be right... thought the nuo5 was an upgraded version of nuo4, but maybe its not

does anyone here use an Nuo 5 that would know? it seems like an expensive gamble for me to take. I am buying a new mixer just for this program. I have looked at numerous units latley and for some reason this one looks like what i want out of a mixer if it can be mapped with this software. All you guys here at VDJ are the reason things keep moving forward here.. Thanks

If you do decide to buy a NUO mixer than the NUO4 is the one you want. That mixer can be mapped to control actions in VirtualDJ.
