Topic: How to use multiple VST plugins as master effects?
VDJ 2024 Mac (ARM) build 8336.2107
2020 MBP 13", M1, 16GB RAM, 500GB SSD, running MacOS Sonoma 14.0
Pioneer DDJ-SX first gen

Hey all, I have lots of VST and AU plugins that I use for mixing and mastering with Ableton that I'd like to use on my master channel in VDJ. I'm thinking I'd like to set up a chain including compression, EQ, multiband dynamics and a limiter. So far I've been able to copy some of my plugins into /Library/Application Support/VirtualDJ/PluginsMacArm/SoundEffect, with some of them working and some giving me errors. I should be able to get these working, but my main issue is the signal chain.

On the master tab, it only seems to allow me to show one effect at a time. While I can enable multiple effects simultaneously by clicking the on buttons in the master effect dropdown menu, I have no idea which comes first in the chain. Is there a better way to do this? Ideally I'd like to have on/off buttons for 3 plugins as well as the ability to rearrange them in the chain. I'd like to have my own limiter set a bit below 0 (maybe -1 or so) so I don't have to worry about hitting the built in VDJ limiter.

Any help is appreciated! Thanks

The order depends on the order you activate the effects

When i use VST effects on the master output to improve the sound quality for my gigs , vdj creates a .ini file after you close it. For some of the VST effects,it seems to change certain parameters to suit the software which is usually not desirable. So my workaround is to open the .ini file that vdj creates and delete almost all the text/commands in the file while keeping the beginning and probably the end intact. That seems to work wonders for me and then i can control all the parameters i want without having to worry about new files/commands being written to distort what the VST Plugin does. Hope this might help
