Topic: Scratch DNA + loop > Virtual DJ freeze after few tries [SOLVED]
Hi,

Am I the only one experiencing VDJ crashing when using scratch dna in a loop?
Not the first time, but after a few tries.

This is what I call DNA scratching with a pad:
effect_active "scratch dna" off & scratch_dna 'CADA.EAEA'

not seeing issue here, I used the scratch longer than end of loop trick to get repeated scratches and it ran for 20 minutes until I checked back on it.
 
Did you try to press scratch dna a few time during the loop?
 
for the first couple of minutes yes.
 
The freeze happens when :
Deck B is master deck playing.
Deck A is beatlocked, stopped and pre-looped on 4 bars....
When using scratch DNA to start the DECK A track > Freeze.
 
 
The bug doesn't happen when Deck A & Deck B are inverted
Deck A is master deck playing.
Deck B is beatlocked, stopped and pre-looped on 4 bars....
When using scratch DNA to start the DECK B track > OK !
 
No need to loop!

The bug happens from cold start when using scratch DNA to start the track on deck A when deck B or C or D is master and deck A is beatlocked.
 
Can't reproduce here.
The script on your pad is as you metioned?
(Since in the video the deck returns to cue 1, but I don't really see why that would happen with only scratch effect)

Don't forget to beatlock deck A before start, deck B is master and try to start with scratch DNA...
 
The freeze bug has been reproduced on my former laptop with VDJ v2023 b7360 without any custom mapper. On this version (b7360), it happens also if Deck A is master and Deck B is beatlocked and Deck B is started with a scratch DNA pad.

On the last version it seems to happen only when Deck A is beatlocked and one of the other Decks is master.

i've reported bugs before then rebooted my system and they are magically gone ... you never know :-)
 
Hello Wickedmix, I restarted several times and tried on 2 different computers: same bug, systematic.
 
Try early access build 7735 as it appears to have a fix.
 
Early Access build 7735 have fixed this problem.
