I am in a big crises . I had an old version of VDJ more than 10 years old. I converted a tone of karaoke disc to mp3 karaoke files. My old VDJ played those mp3 file and showed the video as well, no problem. Fast forward, now I have VDJ 2021 and my zip files play in karaoke but my mp3 files only show as audio!! How do I fix this??????

mp3 files can't be karaoke files without a "sister" .cdg file
The mp3 file holds the audio, the cdg file has the lyrics and timestamps, in a binary format that karaoke player understand
Often those 2 are then put in the same zip file to ensure they stick together, but it will also work fine if they are next to each other
But if you have lost the .cdg files, and only have the mp3 files, then you only have audio left

Here is a link to my issue. I just recorded it to explain what I'm saying.

From what I can find .mcg is a compressed .cdg file
This file format is indeed not supported in VirtualDJ 8, and I'm pretty sure it was not a supported file format in at least VirtualDJ 7
Best way is probably to find a converter to .cdg
I didn't try it, but first hit I found was this http://karaokescene.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4796

So you didn't just have the mp3 files :)
Makes more sense then
But yes, you do need a format that is supported in VDJ

My question is why did the older version of VDJ play those files but not 2021???

I don't know, which version did you use before?
As I said I'm not aware of any version that did play these files.
