Topic: Updated Virtual DJ and Numark Mixstream Pro won't initialize ASIO
I tried uninstalling, reinstalling and I used the Numark Mixstream Pro install software to repair.
I tried reverting to the previous version of Virtual Dj. I made sure that Numark had the latest Engine Software installed which is 2.3.1

What am I doing wrong? I can't get VDJ to see the controller even though the controller believes it's in computer mode.

Can you use the audio interface everywhere else on the laptop?
Meaning: Does the ASIO/audio interface part work?
If not, then you don't even need to open VDJ, because it won't be able to see it until the audio interface can communicate with the laptop

I'm not sure I understand. I don't use the mixer with any other app. How would I check this?

Try setting your standard windows audio to use it (right click the speaker in the bottom right and go into settings)
If that works, and your standard windows sound then plays through the audio interface int the controller, than you know that the ASIO driver is working and everything is connected
And then I'm pretty sure VDJ will be able to use it too, when opened

If you can't locate and use it in windows, then something unrelated to VDJ is wrong (firmware on unit, config on unit, driver, connection and so on), and then you need to fix that first before opening VDJ

I cannot set it in Windows. When I open VDJ, I can go to the settings and open the ASIO Setup but VDJ just reports an error saying that it has failed to initialize the ASIO driver.
It was working before I updated VDJ. Now, I cannot use my controller.

Thanks for trying to help.

Have you tried to restart your computer ?
Have you tried to re-install the Windows driver ?

Is the rest of the controller working properly if you select a different audio output (buttons, knobs, faders, screen etc) ?

Yes

Yes

Yes

The controller is a Numark Mixstream Pro and it is working fine. I can run it in standalone mode.

It simply won't connect to VDJ anymore. It fails to initialize the soundcard so that VDJ can send output. Nothing changed except the update to VDJ. This is beyond frustrating. It makes zero sense. I'm sure there's some sound setting that I'm missing.

And....

I swapped out the USB cable and it's working again.

This is how people go crazy.

Thanks again for attempting to assist.

A broken USB cable
That's becoming a bit of a classic - I think the ones they ship with hardware have gotten worse regarding quality
Anyway... Glad you got it figured out :)

Hello friends, I have a problem like yours. I have the VDJ paid subscription program and I inserted the cable into the Laptop from the Numark MIXTREAM PRO Console and there is a connection sound to VDJ, but the console shows the following message: Computer Mode STANDALONE and it remains blocked like this! What can I do to show the VDJ software on the console screen? Can someone help me please?

Some users have reported that the driver for the Mixstream Pro, Pro+, and Pro Go will not complete installation. The driver installation will proceed to install the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable program, but will not proceed past this. You may notice the installer flash on the screen only briefly.

This may be due to conflicting C++ redistributable programs in your system. Please follow these steps before attempting to install the driver:
