Topic: Set various tracks to (about) the same BPM for auto-mix

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi all, I am new to Virtual DJ and also a fairly new kickboxing instructor at a gym. For my classes, I've been using some pre-made mixes from commercial fitness music companies but I'd love to mix my own purchased music (mostly because I am not a huge fan of the pre-mixes). For my purposes, the auto-mix feature works really well, but there is one thing I haven't been able to figure out (even after watching tutorials and searching). Most of my tracks are somewhere between 140 and 170 BPM, but to have a good class flow I need them all to be around 160. I've picked songs that I know work well when sped up/slowed down a little. I can speed up a single song but I haven't been able to figure out how to adjust the tempo for all my tracks for the entire auto-mix playlist :( Do I have to adjust the tempo first, save them, and then add the tracks? Or can I load them all into the auto-mix list and somehow set the BMP for all upcoming tracks to 160? Sorry if this seems like a really easy question, and if this has been answered somewhere else please let me know. Thank you very much in advance!

I think you can use autoBPMMatch in the settings/automation for that.

I tried but it doesn't keep the BPM :(

I'd suggest that VDJ isn't the best tool for the job. It's primarily designed for DJs to perform live.

For your particular requirements, something like this would be more suitable:

@cyndera,

You can also try with the settings/automix automixMode on 'force fade' and settings/automix autoMixBeatMatchOnFade on 'yes'

By the way, everything you run is completely recorded in the History, which can be found under the Lists and advice tab.

Yeah you are right, I can't find the option to lock the BPM on Automix.
Might be a good idea to implement that option in the future.
