I guess you mean the crossfader? In the mixer area where you select what side to hear?
Are you using a controller, or just in software?
Might just be wrong sound settings (not having master to correct output). And if you have a controller check A/B switches at the crossfader.
If its just in software, you can also try rename settings.xml in /documents/virtualdj/
And then start the software. That way you have default settings, in case you disabled the crossfader or set it to be thru or something else... to test :)
