Topic: Nexus 2 system mapping pre installed?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I will be returning to play 2 nights at a club I used to work at. I now live in Ecuador and use my XDJ-RX. I love the default mapping!

I can't travel internationally with that controller, so I will be playing on a CDJ 2000 N2, DJM 900 N2 system. It is verified by other DJs to be linked with ethernet, so I should be able to use one USB cable to hook up in HID mode.

My 3 questions:

1) will I need a specific driver?

2) is there a default mapping using the great new features in VDJ 2021?

3) What gain level in the settings work best so I have just the right headroom?

Thanks in advance for you informed answers.

I have discovered the online set-up manual, so now, just looking for recommendations about the gain setting, and how to use the features with the default mapping. I have an Android midi DJ Pads app, thinking of mapping for additional effects..

For DJM-900NXS2 all you need to set for gain is to put autogain to 'auto' (but most likely you have it set that way already)
So, nothing special you need to change. If you are going to use a lot of software effects then maybe you might want to set zerodb setting to -3db

Also I'm nor sure which manual you found, but the correct one that has all the info you need is this:
