Hi team,
Haven't been able to find an obvious answer in the how to or manuals or vids. Maybe I've overlooked it (I am but a man).
My laptop can handle stems, but only just.
What's making life hard for my laptop is how VDJ wants to compute stems for every track I load into the player. I'll often try 3 or 4 different songs before deciding what to play. Because I don't use any "pre-listen" feature, I just load up each track and press play with audio coming to my headphones via PFL/cue.
Every single track gets precomputed, even stuff I'd never want to use stems on.
There must be a way to be more selective without having to enable/disable the math engine every time.

You can set the setting precomputeStems to "Only Use Precomputed".
Then precompute (saved) stems will only be for songs, you pre-analyze ahead of your mix (or during your mix) at right-click in browser.
Was that what you wanted?

Thank you Rune! Yes!
Also, I now see the bit that I just could not find. "PreCompute Stems" was set to "always". That was the problem - solved!
Thanks again!
