Topic: Synching with Unreal Engine, Midiclock out? What is the best way to do this

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hey everyone. I'm trying to output what I think is called timecode or midi clock signals from VDJ to unreal engine. I would like to at very least be able to read (and scrape) the master bpm so that I can sync various things to it. I know that unreal has a midi plugin, so maybe this is the way to do it. It would be even cooler if I could somehow get live timecode readings from my two decks, so that for instance I could have a virtual turntable mirror the movements of my current platters. I saw an option for midi to vst when i right click my controllers, but I'm not sure what that does. If anyone has any advice or recommendations that would be awesome. Please and thank you. Dwayne

maybe you may try to map a custom button to "midiclock_active"

You probably want to look into OS2L in order to get the actual beats. The clock (= bpm) will only give you the information how fast the music (tempo) is playing, but not when the first beat is (phase).
