Forum: Wishes and new features

Topic: Auto-scanning unscanned files on encounter for 8-core or better processor behavior as undisableable default.

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Between the previous b6067 version and the latest build, the behavior has changed. Now VDJ automatically scans previously unencountered files when it happens on them (in folders/filter folders/searches etc). I like to keep my DBs free of unnecessary , and limit unneeded wear on my HDDs - in short, I would love to have this default behavior disableable in options. Please! I've got my views set up to display all the info I need, and my 'search for a file' time is at a premium. I don't want to waste time with additional sorts and view changes to find files fast (as I could before). Please make this 'feature' able to be disabled. Thanks!
P.S. I'm still running b6067 in hopes you will add this soon.

Hard drive wear .... really. It's not 1996 any more.

Anyway I believe an option to disable this will be in the next early access release.

Are you looking for Options -> Browser -> autoSearchDB?
