Topic: VDJ 2021 Video Driver too old.... Error?
Hi All,
I have just updated VDJ2021, one of my laptops has a GeForge 820M GPU, and whenever I start VDJ it gives an error staring the driver for the GPU is too old, however the driver installed is the latest for the GPU….
Anyone else had this?

It IS that driver (391.35)… it’s currently the newest that can be installed for the 820M, I have tried to 429.67 but it having none of it!!.

391.35 works fine for me for 2 years with GT525M (Fermi) when in use (latest "for laptops")
the issue is ... windows 10 "2004" often does not init it (or disable it) and have to start driver manually (disable then enable again)
says driver too old or directx fail to init when automatically sdisabled)
VDJ uses 20% GPU with 60fps video and 30fps (experimental skin engine limited to 30) or 30% GPU with 50fps video and <20fps with standard skin engine

will try 416.34... later

Try this one:

According to site here:
https://www.nv-drivers.eu/download-GeForce820M-drivers-for-Windows10-64bit.html
Its the latest driver.

Your card i think is officially not supported in Windows 10, but according to the unofficial site, the driver at first link should be good.

Thank you for your suggestion but.....
That site is incorrect, and as such that driver isn’t the latest driver.... 416.34 will NOT install on a laptop that’s using the 820m card…. This is one of the pervious drivers I directly download from nvidia that wouldn’t install, I have also just tried with the driver in your link above… still no-go!!

391.35 works fine on my machine with VDJ2020, its just 2021 that generates the "Driver too old" message.

It's possible that the 820m is not capable of gpu stems processing. You can manually set mathengine to cpu to remove the warning

OK, things have gotten a little stranger, but in a good way!!…

For reasons not related to VDJ I’ve had to reinstall windows 10 from scratch ( I managed to screw the HDD's boot sector… Don’t Ask!), and once again the latest nVidia driver version that I can install for the 820 card is 391.35 however VDJ2021 no longer tells me my driver is too old!!

I am in the same boat here

I am running a HP 8770w I installed a 970m and my drivers are 353.54 version I can't get a higher version really don't want to flash my Vbios and all that hassle Virtual DJ has been so easy with everything else. is there a work around for this

Try set mathEngine to CPU in VirtualDJ options
That will use the processor instead of graphic card (when not having a compatible card) ...

(alternatively you can set precomputeStems in settings to "only use precomputed" if cpu is also slow on a low end computer)

The feature can be disabled or set to right-click "analyze" for indivudal tracks (precompute) if your current computer dont have enough power for it or is a bit slow

But 970m video card is supported I want to use the 1280 cuda cores I have on the video card to compute the stems so I don't have to use the CPU to do so... Why is Virtual DJ forcing my to upgrade drivers that work for me

I have a Geforce 680m GTX with the Driver 425.31 (the last Driver avaible) , on Windows 10 64bit .
It works fine with stem and also Video on 3 Monitors connected ;-)

Did you try update the drivers as per links above?

Ok so here is what I am running I am running an HP Elitebook 8770w with an i73920xm CPU I am running 32GB of ddr3 1600mhz ram with a 500GB SSD.

Now the Original Video Card that came with this laptop was an AMD M4000 MXM card... So I wanted to not put so much of a load on my CPU with the stem feature seeing that my graphics card did not support the advanced math feature. So I found a used 970m mxm on ebay. Well come to find out NVIDIA never supported a 970m in an 8770w laptop so the newest Nvidia Drivers would not install some old 349.52 drivers would. So I was gettting a Virtual DJ window saying my Graphic card did not support the math engine need to update my NVidia Drivers but I could not because HP never gave NVidia the clearance to install a 970m on this machine IDK ... But I knew 970 has like 1500 cuda cores and could support the math engine and from all the information the newest drivers would work so here is the workaround
