My Music files display changed from a single column to two columns side by side. How do I fix this?

OK let me see if I can manage to work out what you're talking about, from what little information you've given...
By "music files display" I assume you mean the browser in VDJ.
If you normally only have a "single column" then presumably you must be in grid view, so I guess you have a touch screen.
My guess is that you just need to increase the font size. I can't believe that after nine years you're not aware of how to adjust this. :-O
Atomix did recently mess with the font adjust buttons, and the default is now a single button. You can change it back to the old setting via config.
