I am using the 64 bit version and noticed something I think is odd. I had a group of tracks open in the browser and closed the 64 bit version. I opened the 32 bit version and the same tracks were in the browser. My understanding that these are two different applications using the same data base. So my question is since these are two different applications why are they duplicating themselves?

I'm guessing the executables are standalone but from my perspective it makes sense to use one database. No point having to update the DB separately depending on which version you use.

I agree. I just found it strange about the duplication. I guess I will have to learn more about computers in my remaining thirteen years on this earth!

What do you mean by duplicating? They both use the same database and settings file, so nothing is duplicated

That means exactly that they are not duplicating themselves
They simply reads each others data

The 2 executables share everything besides the effects folders.
In other words they share the same settings.xml file (which among others it keeps track of what folder you visited last), the same history folder, the same playlists folder (which also keeps track of the songs you have loaded on sidelist, playlist and karaoke sideviews), the same skins folder, the same databases e.t.c.
Therefore the 2 apps don't duplicate anything. They read each others data, EXCEPT the effects/plug-ins since the 64 bit version needs 64 bit plug-ins/effects.

Duplicating was the wrong word. They are a mirror image of each other. After reading all the posts I now can see why. They not only share the same database but apparently also share the same executables. Sorry for the confusion. Confusion is my normal state...
