Topic: TAP button and BEATS knob don't work with VDJ8

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

How is the TAP button as well as the BEATS knob on the Numark Mixtrack Pro 3 controller supposed to be used for beat matching? If I press the TAP button in the middle of a song, nothing changes on VDJ8. I've to resort to using the virtual TAP button in the software to achieve beat matching. Am I doing something wrong? The TAP button on the controller only turns on red when I press it but doesn't impact the software.

Just A Thought that if you hold down shift while you tap beat button might work.
 
For the life of me, I cannot see a tap button or a beats knobs on the Numark Mixtrack Pro 3.

I've looked at images and I've also been through the VDJ operation guide for the unit. The guide does not show either a tap button or a beats knob, or any assignment for those functions.

Please explain further.
 
And the tap button is not for synchronizing songs anyway.
