Hey Guys,
I just got a new laptop (Dell Inspiron 15 5000 series touch.
I just found out that Windows 10 has dumped the ability to create a true Adhoc network. not to mention not all Wifi Cards can even be backdoored into giving you an ad-hoc.
There at least on my machine seems to be an accessible Bluetooth option. Can we get an update for both VDJ 8 - VDJ2018 and VDJ remote to control via Bluetooth?
Any input on workaround would be great. I have tried the windows documentation on the Adhoc subject with no luck of getting it to work. They want you to share a network connection "HOTSPOT" this workaround isn't really an ad-hoc network "Peer - Peer"
Thanks Guys

Bluetooth won't have enough range or bandwidth. Get one of these TP-Link extenders and set it up in AP mode.... it works absolutely perfectly. I used to work remotely in 2008 on XP and it was easy but now it's a nightmare. Many newer cards don't support AP mode so even Connectify won't work. I'm in a multifloor large venue and it never disconnects. Just plug it in somewhere central and connect both devices.
I'm using an ipad to connect by VNC to a Windows 10 laptop but the principal is the same. The VDJ remote app connects instantly but I just don't like using it at all.

I got one from John Lewis for £38 on sale.

I just turn in the hot spot on my phone , gives me my network and internet access
Also playing with the new vigor 2862 router
This router allows you connect to a WiFi access point as its internet wan connection , but then can also at the same time generate it's own WiFi AP which you can have guest login, with your own branding , and you can even have login via face book and it captures the user details , it then can direct then your own landing page .
So basically if your at a venu that has wifi , you program the log in details into the router , amd then your hot spot can just be a click through login
And it then looks lime its you that's offering the wifi
