Topic: Using a NUC with video....

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Anyone using a NUC to mix video? just like to know you experiences with the integrated video card, and how it handles the load. I am in the process of rebuilding my desktop, but would like to leave it home.

Should be fine for most uses if it's a relatively new integrated gpu

Thanks Adion, as usual.

It would even be possible for me to build the NUC inside my DDJ-1000 case, with just an external screen. Compact solution.

I have been using various NUC for mixing video the last years. The i3 and i5 ones with only integrated Intel UHD Iris Graphics worked perfectly fine with even large 4K video files, not so good but acceptable with shaders. Currently I'm using a last generation i7 NUC with Intel HD Graphics 630 and a AMD Radeon RX Vega M GH so obviously the video perfomance is better thanks to the discrete graphics, but many shaders still doesn't work as expected so no blame on the hardware.
Anyway a recent NUC with a SSD, a fast processor, integrated Intel graphics and a good amount of DDR4 is a more than a safe bet.
