I can nudge the default wave with the mouse..

but not the horizontal scratchwave..

This is the waveform at the top of the default browser, as opposed to the scratch wave on the decks.
could somebody please check theirs with a mouse to confirm this is the case for not just me??

There is a setting for Vinyl mode and CD mode.. in vinyl mode the mouse holds the waveform making it easy to scratch, in cd mode nothing happens :(

CD Mode is a.k.a nudge mode. For slightly nudging the track tempo back or forward. Not for scratching.

I'm not trying to scratch, I'm wanting to use this for nudging / beatmixing

Use the jogwheels or the pitch +/- nudge buttons.

why cant I use this waveform to nudge?

i have a feeling a scratch wave was never designed for nudging could be the issue.

well as it shows up at the top of the scree, my request is for Atomix to allow it for nudging please?? as all it does in CD mode is look pretty?

Why do you feel the need to nudge from the waveform though? What's wrong with the jogs or the pitch bend buttons?

I'm a touch screen user AND remote app user.
screen real-estate is limited so being able to use this waveform in the same way as the other would be a huge bonus to me.
I can use the original waveform to beatmix with but I understand the 2nd better.
(Infact, I'm pretty sure it was only recent that the mouse stopped working on the scratchwave :/ )

I did notice in the early days of VDJ 8 that grabbing/moving the rhythm wave didn't produce sound like it did in 7 - but that seems to have changed now.
I tried earlier this evening to do the above (with a mouse) and it worked fine, both in scratch and CD mode, using the "standard" wave and the scratch wave.
It surprised me as it hadn't worked at all last time I tried (it's not something I tend to do anyway).
As VDJ has a plethora of settings, your guess is as good as mine why I can & you can't.

the scenario is (on a multi-touch screen (and remote app)) you can have one finger adjusting the pitch and another adjusting the (top) waveform.
The original waveform does the job but as they've built a dual scratch waveform into the top of the skin (like in my screenshots) I would've thought this could be used the same way :(
I can almost mix while its in scratch mode but as its only touch n hold it proves more difficult.
I'm not so much looking for a work-around with other buttons, this is more of a request to the developers to incorporate my idea into the dual scratchwave (not to help me scratch, that's not what I do)

No mouse on vertical scratchwave in CD mode either.
I'm still thinking nudge should've been implemented here too for the CD mode..??? or at least scratch possibility on the vertical scratch?? no??

Scratchwave do not "support" nudging, that's why they re called "Scratch"-waves :)
You can do that with ..
- Default Rhythm waves (in CD mode)
- Jogwheel (in Cd mode)
- Pitch Bend buttons.
It was always like that, nothing new here.

Well dare I say it but I can use mouse / Touch in the Focus skin.
Ive tried to compare the code for it and cant see how it differs from the original scratchwave in the rhythmzone but it does what I want it to do.. HOWEVER..
I want to do this in the remote app too.
There must be something else somewhere in the skin making this waveform different to a normal horizontal scratch but I cant see it yet :(

Maybe put an invisible rhythmzone in front of the scratchwave as a workaround ?
