Topic: Clearing songs from the automix and sidelists help?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi all

I'm running VDJ8.2 on MacBook Pros and having upgraded from last Autumn I really like 8 now I've got to grips with it but there's one thing that's really bugging me, I've asked a few local fb groups, had a look on the support section of the vdj site and still had no luck:

In VDJ 7 if I had a tune on the sidelist and I dragged it onto a deck or dragged it outside of the vdj window (onto the desktop) the track would be removed from the sidelist. I liked this feature because it got rid of the tracks from the list as soon as I cued one up on a deck and it was also easy to get rid of tracks I'd decided not to play anymore.

I can't get this to work in vdj8 - I've messed around with the settings and apart from removing them one at a time manually or playing the song through fully (which isn't always going to happen), they just stay there in the automix and side lists.

Any ideas or help? Reading the FAQs it sounds like it might not be possible to do this with 8 but if anyone knows how it would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Jim

There is an option for automix and sidelist to remove the tracks if they are played. In automix it is in the little automix options accessed via the little dot If i recall. Presume its the same for sidelist. would that suffice?

In the main options there is then a setting for how many seconds a song has to be played for before it gets marked as "played" so you could then set this at 1 second. Then purely cueing it would mark it as played, depending on how you cue.

Hi Jim,

This has been asked for many times in version 8. Previously you could "move" a track between playlist and sidelist but now it is copied by default.

As stated above they can be erased once the track has been played by a specified time (historyDelay settng) but that is the only way. You could of course right click to remove or hit the "delete" key but that's extra clicks.

removePlayedFromSidelist and automixAutoRemovePlayed

The amount of times I have asked for this they must be sick of me, they have no intention of bringing that feature back for whatever reason, I'd just wish they would reconsider, in the meantime we just have to put up with what we got... I wished I had a penny for all those extra clicks I have had to make.. lol.

All software companies do this. Newer versions of software should include all the features from previous versions but it never happens. Just like no media centre in Windows 10.

They do it just to hack us all off.
