Topic: How do I get the LED's to light up

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hello community,

I use the Vestax VFX-1 controller in conjunction with virtualdj 8.2.

With the standard mapping, which is already stored in vdj 8.2, I get the LED's not to light up.

I guess it is somehow to the definition file.

In vdj 7 the same problem existed. This could be fixed with the Vestax VFX-1 Def & Mapper by cioce. The definition file caused the LEDs to light up again.

Under vdj8 I have not found such a definition file. Therefore, my request: Can you please help me to bring the LED's to light up.

Perhaps there is someone who can create such a definition file?

I thank you in advance.

greeting

Martin

take the v7 def file found in devices and add the word "force" to the start of the file name.

I think that's all you'll need to do.

maybe options disableBuiltInDefinitions yes, but I don't think that is needed.

Thank you Locodog,

Had just tried it. Unfortunately, no success.

Do you have any other ideas?

Locodog,

Many heartfelt thanks for your quick help. I've tried it and it works. I am so glad that it now works. I have so often thought about how I get the LED's to light up and now it works finally.

Thank you so much.

Can you possibly explain to me why I must use the prefix "force-"?

Best regards

Martin

I believe the v8 definition files are built into the V8 executable and are the preferred ones.

If you want to use another definition file for a natively supported controller you have to "force" VDJ to use the custom one.
That is way you need this prefix in front of the filename.
