Topic: Toggle playing sample on / off with same button [SOLVED]

Would welcome an action verb / action command / "script" to make a button trigger a sample with the first press and with a second press of the same button, to stop / mute that sample.

This sounds basic but l believe it's not possible on Virtual DJ nor on Ableton, neither with my Behringer CMD DV-1 nor with my Akai APC Mini. I would therefore hesitate to guess that it's not possible with any controller on any software. As such, l'd therefore guess it's an Arduino thing? Hope l'm wrong.

I have the apc mini and you can do this easily. the left and right arrows change the trigger mode? or am i missing something?
 
You are correct Andy, mine does the same thing......

He should read the PDF file on how the APC mini works.
 
hmm ok.

What l'm after is:

Array of 16 samples in 2 rows of 8 each. Let's say l'm looking to trigger the 7th sample (= Sample 7) from left hand side, on Row #1.

I press button (not on APC Mini btw, but l was trying to use the APC Mini's commands for my Behringer CMD DV-1) ---> "sampler_pad 7"

I'm fine doing this. Sampler is set to eternally loop Sample 7.

I want it to loop Sample 7 forever.

Problem: I want to press the same button to also stop Sample 7 playing.

Another thing: I'm also interested in a different "one shot" sampler mode, where even then, l want the same button that triggers Sample 7, to also stop Sample 7 even while Sample 7 is playing.



What you guys have suggested:

I wanted the sample stopped from the same button.

Edit: I've found a solution now. It's dead easy - please add it to your list of exampls:

sampler_play_stop [sample number goes here e.g. 7]

The pdf was written to answer these questions, by refusing to read it you are stealing time from other people through your own laziness.

The APC Mini is not actually in my set up, but it doesn't matter anyway, you are just following me around being a wanker. You keep saying you'll never speak to me again, but you then do. I don't know why you're so obsessive (l don't know you in the slightest but you have this weird scene to project onto me? Fukin weirdo) and l don't care. You're a creepypasta. Also l have to say, you're useless. I've gotten solutions from other people easily, without fuss. From you, all this weird creepy stuff and naff all solutions. I never added the # because I thought it was comman knowledge that you just add the # for whatever sampler your trying to map.

The same can be said for the decks and FX slots as well.

As for Loco I have to agree with him, some of the things you ask for are all in the wiki and its kinda obvious you didn't search or look in the wiki hence the spoon feeding of answers......

Quit taking shit so personal and be glad theres people here who will help you even though the answers are all here for you if you take a little more time and do some research.

As for the threats, knock that shit off also. Its doesn't help your case and you'll be the one who gets banned from the forums.

I've only been in theese forums a few weeks and Locodog is without question the most helpful and altruistic person on here, he gives up hours of his time to script stuff for people. He is the last person I would want to upset. I noticed you burst onto this forum last week I think, incessantly posting various stuff you could easily find out yourself. I put it down to over exuberance nd excitement. But maybe I was wrong.

It is as l've said it is, this twat has just been following me around giving vague useless hints that have not helped me. He's been extremely condescending and l've been polite about it up to now.

I've had actual solutions from other people, without this fuss.

I burst onto the forum not because this is the start of my DJ career and l'm excited about it (as if that's wrong, and as if that's anything to do with technical issues about controller mapping), but because l have a set of things to figure out (and l believe l have done it all now). I had a purpose. Guys like this, do not have a purpose.

And by the way, Andy, your answer was useless too, so why are you still here? Obviously nothing to do with the matter at hand. You didn't even read the OP, as l said l wanted to do it with 1 button, and so you suggested a 2 button solution and now you're telling me about my personality? Sort yourself out lad.

If you have an answer, give it, like l give it to other people, without putting them down. Don't mix being a jerk with being helpful, you may think it's alright because that's perhaps how your family life is, how your parents brought you up.

With me, if l know the answer, l give it with a glad and open heart. I don't swear at people, l don't give them a vague hint while making out i know the specific answer, and while telling the person they're stupid.

Second, you asked whats the script to make a sample start/stop with the same button which is the exactly the script I gave you.

Thrid dont resort to threats because it can get you banned from the forums and then you wont get any help.
