On PC you
1. Disable auto update and early release update
2. Clean the documents\virtualdj\cache for any auto downloaded versions (if you have had auto update enabled at some point)
3. Rename the virtualdj8.exe in "\Program Files (x86)\VirtualDJ\" to something else
before doing the reinstall/downgrade
On Mac I assume the executeable file that you need to rename (or delete) before downgrading is called virtualdj8.DMG or virtualdj8.APP
Other than that it should be the same as PC
