Topic: Pioneer DDJ-SX Audio issue / Crash While Loading Songs

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi All,

I'm putting this here as it seems to be more of a 8.1 issue, not a Pioneer issue... I'm at my whits end with 8.1. I'm tired of the reliability being an issue. I constantly have issues with loading songs. It freezes up the software with the audio sounding like an extreme reverb of the existing audio coming out. There is no rhyme or reason that I can find. It happens on random songs, not the same ones. I've tried changing the song load priority settings, and it has had no real impact overall. I don't get why a software like this would crash or have these issues while loading an .mp3. It just seems ridiculous. Sometimes the "reverb sound" just goes on then it crashes, sometimes it does it for 5 seconds (still horrible with a packed dance floor) then stops and the 2nd track continues to load. Can anybody legit help? I'm running a very clean quad core I7 Samsung with 8GB of memory and 2GB of Video memory. I never had this problem in VDJ 7. I don't even do videos anymore. What setting do I need to adjust/fix to once and for all solve this problem! I really don't want to have to build my whole library again in Serato DJ, and hate it on top of that, but I can't have this going on. HELP!! :(

I've put a screen shot of my "Performance Tab". If somebody needs another screen shot of something, let me know!

Thanks!

Which audio interface do you use?
If you are using it with asio, I would recommend to put ultralatency back to yes (default) but that's the only thing I see. Otherwise a system like that should indeed not have any problems.

So the "description" when I hover over that field says - "Set to yes to minimize the latency when using ASIO sound drivers, by writing audio before the "safe" recommended point. If you hear some cracks in ASIO, try to turn this off.

I can try it. Changing it back worries me a bit as well. You are right, there should be NO issues with this computer for audio, and considering VDJ 7 was flawless, I can't figure out what setting I need to adjust to get the same result in 8, unless 8 just isn't as great as people want to rave about...

I've been looking through the threads for an issue I'm having similar to yours. Sometimes when I drag a song on to a cold deck the hot deck stops and/or the volume drops and/or pans. I think it has something to do with the headphone cues or the position of the crossfader or volume sliders. Seems like VDJ is doing so much analyzing once that song is dropped in the cold deck. Try turning off your cues for the hot deck and moving the crossfader to the hot deck only. I'd be interested in seeing if that does or does not work for your problem. I too have VDJ8, WIN 10 and a new optimized Lenova PC dedicated to DJ.with plenty of ram and power.
