I wanted to get your opinions even though the NV II isn't quite out yet. I have used both Numark and Pioneer controllers, and feel that while Numark's layout is better looking, I don't use the screens as much as I thought I would, and Pioneer feels a bit sturdier overall, but I don't know if it actually is. I don't like the load buttons and how they work on the older NV but they have changed it on the NV II so the II would be the one I would get if I went with a Numark. I loved my old Pioneer, but I need to replace it and am open to change. What do you guys think?

I've used an NV (original version, although the new one is barely different) and it's OK. I was happy to use it over three days at a trade show, and didn't have any issues with it.
However, at the same show more recently, I bought a Pioneer DDJ-SX2 for use out on the road.
It's larger than the NV, which I prefer. It has analogue inputs for line and turntables. It has two mic inputs with full EQ - the NV only has one mic (jack only) and a "tone" control.

In the end, it will come down to which controller suits you best. As Groovin stated, he made a decision, based on the things that mattered most to him, and made a choice. You will have to make a choice on the pros and cons for you. I know that I will not even consider a controller that only has one mic input.

u might also consider if VDJ is your preferred dj program that the NVii is not mapped yet and nobody even know if it will be or not with all the sneaky tricks the manufactures are pulling these days to lock their hardware to certain software.
good luck :-)

LOL, good one +1
I always buy new stuff with in my mind Atomix will sure map this :) But with the new manufacturer"locks" maybe you should think of this up front indeed.

Pioneer all the time!
Both are good controllers and will last but with pioneer you are buying:
. A very trusted brand - industry standard
. A crap ton of aftermarket support - they make flight cases for the DDJ-SX2 but not for the Numark NV II
. Get to use Reckord Box, I am a bit bias towards that software but I do think they stole some ideas from VDJ
. Both a very sturdy but the higher end Pioneers are designed to look at home in a club, they look heavy, tough and professional and nothing like a toy
. Pioneer usually has better resale value, e.g. two CDJ 100's and their equal mixer will still set you back $600 from Cash Converters, try getting that from any old Numark gear
Ultimately, you need to road test the gear as much as you can and see what works with you, it might even boil down to a button in the wrong place or something as both are pretty good.
