Topic: PIONEER DDJ-RR & Virtual Dj

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I’m owner (last 6 months) of a DENON MC6000Mk2 and I have to admit that I’m quite satisfied. Recently I “discover” PIONEER DDJ-RR which is (almost) equal (size, price) to MC6000Mk2 but (probably much) better…

My questions are:

1. Does Virtual Dj support completely (drivers & full mapping) the PIONEER DDJ-RR controller? If not (yet), do you know when it’s “on schedule”?

2. Does anyone (already) have – use the PIONEER DDJ-RR, thus to share experiences?

Thanks in advance…

I think you will feel a switch from a MC6000mk2 to the DDJ-RR as a downgrade
I own the "sister" DDJ-SR, and I feel that the quality of the Denon series (MC3000, MC4000 and MC6000) is better
It feels like going from sturdy metal to plastic

Its not if you are interested in something with Pads though ;)
and i have to admit that the Pioneer Pads are the best out there.

I'm interested in this controller, nice jogs/pads/size etc for smaller booths, and this is very much an upgrade from the SR.

But I did ask Pioneer about support for other programs and they weren't interested, they're just trying to push their Rekordbox. So if support gets added I'd need to be 100% sure that everything is working as it should before making an investment.

Without a doubt, Denon is a highly appreciable manufacturer in djing. BUT (truth be told, for experienced, beyond all other) the construction, the feeling and the immediacy of Pionner's buttons & faders are unique! At least, that's my personal opinion all these years...

I don't have experience (yet) from DDJ-RR, but if it's "similar" to SX2, I strongly believe that worth the change. As about Pionner's "reaction" on software, it's something that didn't surprise me, we all know "the game"...

@ djdad

I don't want pads on my controller, that is the function of a sub controller.
I regard Akai highly with respect to pads.
