Topic: Remotebox, and VDJ8.1

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I'm looking at the relationship between Pioneers Remotebox, and VDJ at the moment. Pioneer generate a stable wifi connection between Remotebox, and the XDJ R1. Using my phone as a hotspot offers a less than reliable Internet connection. That means currently the VDJ remote is less than reliable, at least in my case. My Ipad can be mapped to VDJ8 using Remotebox, but the mapping is limited. Perfection is almost possible, however it is unlikely Pioneer will allow Atomix to control VDJ8 to the extent that it becomes a threat to Reckordbox.
OK so we have limited control over VDJ8 using the stable Pioneer wifi connection. I can use its transport controls, the x-y control of effects, loops, and a few hotcues. This is superior to 100% control when my Internet connection happens to work.

The Internet for the time being might be a little too unstable to do justice to all the features offered by VDJ8.1. In the mean time Remotebox is a useful substitute.

I wish Pioneer, and Atomix would work together in producing an almost perfect DJ product..but it's unlikely I'd be able to afford the end result.
So be it.
