Can you make a recording of playing the same song in both and explain what you think sounds better in traktor?

This I have explained to the greek forum and I and some others do not need a special effort to understand someone that sound in tractor pro 2 is even at high volume Relaxation lucidly FREQUENCY while in virtoaldj that I consider much higher than the tractors to all the rest predominate midrange strongly crushed TREBLE in many songs and a tiring effect on a lot of tension.
Please correct this I believe that the engine sound of tractor pro 2 is far superior.
I write through the translator of google and I do not know if those carried made clear.

VirtualDJ's frequency response is pretty much as flat as can be.

Any chance the gain is set too high on some tracks?

@Adion I think atomix should consider -3db as a default zerodb setting I'm sure it would help with these type of complaints.... Crushed highs I think is the give away of badly set gains by the user.

I would be happy if I had to virtual dj the sound of traktor pro and I believe that the virtual dj would enter all club.
Thanks.

I agree. A good lot of songs go in to the limiter when gain is just past 12 O clock and that is too tight.

Hi,

I just made the comparison today. I was first surprised that Foobar2000 output a better sound than VDJ.

To sum up : I agree with the original poster, Traktor 2 Pro has a far better sound than VDJ8.
In Traktor, the sound is more dynamic, more details in medium-highs are listenable, bass are more sharp, there is a better stereo image, sound is less tiring, ...

What equipment are you listening on, to be able to hear all these differences?

Hi,

My own PA system which is quite well equiped : 2 way active system (15'' + TPL150H), bi-amped and filtered with a BSS366 processor.
In all case, sound is outputted through SPDIF, passes through SRC2496 then feeds the BSS (so it's a digital link from the computer to the BSS).

And not to forget : I use ASIO driver

if the sound seems tiring you are most likely hitting the limiter hard squashing the sound ... lower your gains and or adjust zerodb to -3 or -6

i hit edit and makes a new post with a quote ? sry for all the posts

Adions request above still stands. Please provide the requested recordings.

Hi,

zeroDB is already set to -6dB, gains are correctly set, level meters show there is enough headroom.
Since I use VDJ8, limiter has never been triggered...

BTW : it has been tested with no EQ, at normal speed, ...

Hi SBDJ,

I see the request from Adions. Hoewever with the trial version of Traktor 2 you can't currently record the output :/ (and after 30 minutes you have to close/reopen)
But maybe, in a first approach, you can do a listening comparison ?

audacity is free you can use it to record traktor -> https://sourceforge.net/projects/audacity/

only way they can hear what you do is if you make the recording.

you can bet they have already done comparisons themselves many times over and not just to traktor.

Well record the out via audacity or something,

I'll bet that traktor colours the eq,
