Topic: Windows 10? - Page: 3

This part of topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information

I don't intend to try Windows 10 til after the wedding season is over (November for me), or maybe after Christmas even.

Just wondering, has anyone installed it on a boot camped Mac?

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

You need to install the drivers for your video card again. Suggested to look into the manufacture's page and install the latest available ones.

anyone one run windows 10 with vdj 7 ?
wondering how that went.
I have bad issues with 8 still, so not on our club computer...we still use the stable 7 until 8 perks up for us.

I had Windows 10 with 7 and 8 and they both had problems. I reverted back to Windows 7 and all my problems went away.

Some Latency issues over here.

I have done a clean install of Windows 10 Enterprise 64-bit since release from my MSDN account, but I have noticed that during play if I would go into a folder on the machine and scroll in it, it starts to hick the music. Under the same system with Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit never had these issues.

VDJ 8.0 build 2441.1067
Hercules Rmx using the latest drivers 5 HDJS. 2015
HP ProBook 6460b
12 GB
4TB Porsche Desktop Drive

I have increased the ASIO Buffer on the Hercules to the max, but still.

Okay, I have solved the latency issue.
I am really getting old, forgot that I had to redo all the special configs as I had done a clean install on the machine. When I was still running Windows 7 I had done the following steps to Optimize the folders which solves the he load-delay.
In the properties window of the Music Folder, Click the Customize tab. Under the “Optimize this folder for: drop-down menu, Select General Items.
Now when scrolling into folders, the hicks are gone.

I too am having an issue where my computer wishes to up grade to windows 10 from 7 that I'm using now, my issue is will VDJ 8 work with 10? also will 7 still work with 10? and will my Denon 6000 still work with the Windows 10? It's working fine now with 7 and 8.

thanks for your assistance in this,

Mike Bendavid

Win10 proved very buggy and troublesome at first so I decided to bite the bullet following numerous computer specialist articles in the general press on the matter.

I backed up my music folders and took a copy of the database before doing an upgrade - I say upgrade, but now that the new Windows 10 (1511, 10586) version is out it allows you to install using your genuine Windows 7/8/8.1 product key from a clean install. This makes Windows 10 far less likely to crap out on you as the install is clean and unfettered by remnants and stuff from previous versions.

Once done, install and necessary drivers for controllers (eg. in my case the Denon ASIO drivers for my HC-4500), allow Windows to fully update itself any further to get all the "improvements" out of the way, and finally reload VirtualDJ and then copy your music archive and database back to exactly the same places it all came from.

This worked beautifully for me, reduced my cold boot time to less than 12 seconds including VDJ in the startup programs. No crashes, stuttering, USB "unknown device" issues or anything anymore, just a really nice fast VDJ laptop which is a pleasure to use again.

What are your system specs? (Processor, Memory, etc.)

It most likely has to do with your memory.

Hi DJ folks, I'm getting an issue with VDJ7 PRO on my Acer 481PT (i5 / 6 GB RAM) running Windows 10. I never encountered issues with WIN 8 and after the WIN 10 upgrade things were running smoothly until the last big Windows upgrade a couple of weeks ago. Since then, VDJ7 works intermittently when I try to use the software only at home. However, when I connect to the pub's Numark controller every Thursday the program loads perfectly and I have no issues throughout the gig. However, when I disconnect and try the VDJ software at home, sometimes it loads and works fine and then sometimes it doesn't. So far I've tried uninstalling and re-installing and I've upgraded my Realtek Audio drivers but the software still works basically when it wants. I downloaded the VDJ 8 trail version from the site and this loads and works fine so it seems to be a conflict with VDJ7 and WIN10. Any ideas as to how to resolve this problem? One other quick question......during all these tests and trials, I've lost my VDJ data in the form of cue points, BPM's etc. twice. How can I back up my database to save this information? Do I save a particular file to a flash drive and just copy and paste it back and forth?

Part of the problem with consumer versions of Windows 10 is that the user has no control over the updates, and as we know MS updates are notorious for screwing things up. That's one of the reasons I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.

I can't help but thanks for the feedback.
