Topic: How to keep the Browser active?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi guys,
when picking music, I like to klick in the waves to skip through the track.
From versions < 8 I was used to still being able to scroll through the tracklist with the arrow keys.
Now in 8 the browser seems to be inactive as soon as I click somewhere else.
Am I missing some setting to fix this or can anyone think of a proper workaround?
So far I came up with setting e key for browser_window 'songs', but having to hit another key after prelistening a tracks severely compromises my workflow when sorting out huge folders.

map this to one key -> browser_window 'songs' & browser_scroll +1
map this to another -> browser_window 'songs' & browser_scroll -1

will always scroll only the songs view

Yeah, I thought of that at first, but that'll make it impossible to go through folder trees by keyboard.
I guess I'll have to set that for picking then and delete it afterwards.

Thanks, though!

Other solutions still welcome...

set it to other keys then the arrows problem solved

I wouldn't go as far as calling that a solution since it used to work otherwise, but at least that'd work.
It's like eating cheese, tomatoes and flour instead of having a pizza. About as nutritious, but wholly different experience and much less enjoyment. ;)
