I think this will be a very hard one to pull off, but IMO, worthy of a request in the end.
I'm a mobile DJ, I would love to be able to offer my clients both elder and younger to be able to request songs via a mobile app program for both Apple & Android devices. I would like the plugin to create a LOCAL only hotspot for users to be able to latch onto and be able to send song requests. Both apps should be able to parse and read ONLY the song database files that are on the active rig so they can only request what the DJ actually has on his system. Clearly this is affected by the DJ's ability to keep organized meta data of their files which any DJ should be doing already, if not, then this would be messy for them and oh well. It would also be great to be able to DISPLAY this in the video output stream as well as an "in queue" type for those that do video to see an accepted or rejected type status or what has been requested. Duplicates should be user grouped. Foul language parsed and *****'d
This would be the general base line, I guess it would be cool to see social media integration for those that want it, but ultimately its primary function would be a local hotspot as the root operation since some venues have terrible wifi and or no access to high speed data.

i was just talking to my dj partner the other day about this. as i am also 100% mobile. but didnt no how to word it & ask. im sure glad u did :-)

Kittmaster, I like your request idea but I think if VDJ8 offered a way to put a crawl on the bottom of the screen to pull a social media stream ie. twitter or instagram that might kill two birds with one stone. I personally have not done this since I am still a beginner VJ but it seems very possible for you to get requests via twitter. You tell people as they enter the venue to follow you on twitter, hashtag the event, etc. Setup your smartphone or tablet and log into your twitter acccount and you should be able to see requests as they come in LIVE. (correct me if I am wrong)
As for the text and/or image crawl, just like MTV used to do . . . kids love to give their friends a shout out, etc So if one can live feed the activity that is coming in on Twitter, Instagram or facebook I think that will keep the audience engaged and entertained.

Sure if it could be a switch to turn it on and off. Not everyone uses Twitter or Social media. While I have both, I think its more garbage than useful for my needs. I just want something that doesn't require social media for operation. When they decide to change their API's then it breaks the application and your screwed. If you've upsold it or is part of your package and suddenly it stops working......IMO the customer doesn't care who's fault it is, only that it is not present as promised....and for me, that is bad for business.
We also have venues around here where data is almost completely blocked or it crawls due to structure interference, and that can add another layer of issues.
Many may not care, but these are the details that make us excel ensuring we are completely self sufficient.
