Topic: VDJ8; Toggle sampler bank, sidelist, and instruments via mapper

Can anyone give me a mapper that will allow sampler bank, sidelist, and the instrument banks to pop up when a button is pressed?
For example: I've tried sampler_bank, sampler_window, sampler_select, etc, none work.

Also what would a parameter scroll mapper be to scroll through all the new banks in vdj 8?

The command -- sideview 'sampler' -- will display the sampler in the sidelist , however it won't open the the sidelist
the command -- sampler_bank +1 -- will change to the next samplerbank (expect {remix mode} )
also you can specify the exact bank by "name" or by number (3 for the third bank , 2 for second .....)
command -- sampler_bank "Your_sampler_bank" -- shows "Your_sampler_bank" in the side view (use the quotes)

Not sure if there is a command (yet?) for opening or closing the sideview . Would be nice though !
 
Open or close the side view with

show_splitpanel 'sideview'

First off, I hope someone other than SBDJ answers this post because he'll tell me that there's nothing wrong with my setup, but I in fact find problems with my setup every day, which vdj will never fix.

So I'm back to attempting mappers from vdj to my mixer, and I'm having more issues.

When I have the denon x1600 function 'PAGE1_PARAM 1' mapped to 'sampler_bank +1', the sampler bank spirals out of control.

This one is probably user error, but I'm still having problems mapping more of the sampler bank to the x1600 mixer. Per virtual dj script, sideview : "Show a specific folder in the sideview. Available sideviews are automix,sidelist,karaoke,sampler,clone. Use 'sideview +1' or 'sideview -1' to scroll between available sideviews". When I have PAGE1_PARAM1 SW mapped to sideview_karaoke, or sideview_sidelist, etc, it does not work.
 
We can only fix problems if enough information is given and we can actually replicate them.

I won't try and assist you in the future as you clearly don't want my help.

DJ Bertie, you have just alienated one of the nicest, knowledgeable, and most respected guys on this forum. That's just my opinion, but what do I know.
 
PAGE1_PARAM 1 (the endless encoder) should be assigned as
sampler_bank
and should select next bank if turned clockwise and previous if anti-clockwise
If you wish the same (or similar) encoder to cycle through the available Sideview windows you nee to assign it as ..
sideview
or
param_bigger 0 ? sideview +1 : sideview -1

For a button like PAGE1_PARAM1_SW you need to assign it as ..
sampler_bank +1 (will select next Sampler bank)
or
sampler_bank (will select the previous Sampler bank)
If the same (or similar) button is needed to cycle through the available views of Sideview, you need to assign it as ..
sideview +1

If any of the above doesnt work , let us know.
 
Sorry....but SEE MY FRUSTRATION? I've kept my cool for 15 months, I'm fed up.

It's been over a year since vdj 8 came out and there are still problems with this setup every day. You all keep telling me there aren't problems with this setup.

I use this setup for up to 5-6 hours at a time. It's sitting here, in my face, showing me problems.

Not trying to start anything cause that's the last I want but I just lose control when new problems arise ever day. And thanks for the help djdad.
 
Do i have to assume that none of the actions provided above worked for you, or is it a moaning moment of yours ?
