locks is possible but tricky with all the different hw setups.
It's just query and conditional.
banks are already a thing, have been for ~5 years ..?

If there are no other knobs then the parameters don't change in the first place though, so not exactly sure what you mean

till then why don't you find a decent vst that suit your needs and get the job done? Will you ever update the effects? The fx are the only downside of the software in my eyes. I mean they're okay. But compared to some other software the quality just isn't great. I use the reverb and echo a lot on Traktor, but in Vdj it's lacking and sounds more mechanical electronic. I remember 10 years ago it was sounding quite the same.
My biggest wish for an update would be the echo and reverb effect.
Especially the reverb effect.
It would be nice to get a long tail, just as in traktor or other software.
All the other features in vdj are top notch.

First of all, thank you so much for responding. I tried to use a vst, but still the sound quality wasn't sounding well like in other software or hardware. Maybe I didn't got good vst..
I just don't get it while everything is so advanced in so many ways. A basic feature like the native sounds effects should be top notch as well. I really love VDJ and I really don't want to switch software because of this.
I do play professionally and in my scene some effects are used a lot, like reverb and echo fade out. This is because I play a lot of different genres and tempos in 1 set. And sometimes it would be nice to just reverb fade out a track and have a looong wooosshhh sounding tail, and still have somewhat smooth sounding transition.
I'm almost tempted to buy a 1500 euro controller. The Rane MKII, because it has fx onboard so I can bypass the VDJ effects. I read it's supported by VDJ but so it's definitely interesting. I'm still using my good old Traktor s2 lol
Anyways, thanks for reading. If there's a really good quality i would love to try.

I'm sorry but that is not my experience at all. Check my video here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/18vSLa23atiCAqBxZavNnja5pPdq9_7dF/view?usp=share_link
One knob is controlling ALL wet/dry on both decks with the default Hercules T7 mapping.

Ah you meant the strength for which you do have a knob.
You could change the mapping of FX_PARAM and FX_3SL_PARAM on the T7 to only change the strength of the first slot.
Then use the first slot for your dynamic effects, and the other slots for the effects that you want to keep fixed

Thaxxx virtual dj team for these wonderful updates, but I wanna learn more on new ways of mapping pad fx like adding parameters with parameter names case previously we used pad fx with only percentages

Lets use this thread to post any wishes and new features that you would like to see for Effects in a next major release
I would like to formally request the addition of a Freeze Delay effect to VirtualDJ, similar to the behavior demonstrated in the following reference video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vnqC51JNSY
Description of the requested effect:
A delay effect that can freeze (hold) the current audio buffer.
The frozen audio continues looping with delay feedback, independent of the playing track.
Ability to activate/deactivate the freeze instantly (button or pad style).
Adjustable parameters such as:
Delay time
Feedback
Filter (HP/LP)
Dry/Wet mix
Optional behavior:
Release/fade-out when the freeze is disengaged
Tempo-synced and free-time modes
Why this is important:
Freeze Delay is a widely used creative FX tool in professional DJ workflows, especially in:
Live performance transitions
Breakdowns and build-ups
Track switching without losing energy
Open-format, techno, house, and festival-style mixing
Many DJs (myself included) rely on this effect in other platforms and hardware, and its inclusion in VirtualDJ would significantly enhance creative performance possibilities and keep VirtualDJ competitive with other professional DJ software.
I believe this feature would be highly valuable to a large portion of the VirtualDJ community, especially performance-oriented DJs using pads and controllers.
Thank you for your continued development and support of VirtualDJ.
I would be happy to provide additional technical feedback or testing if needed.

Wish / feature request: Dockable (embedded) VST window inside the skin
Right now VST UIs are floating windows, and they often end up behind the VirtualDJ skin as soon as you click back on the interface. Then you’re stuck bringing the VST window to the front again and again.
It would be great to have an option to dock/embed the VST UI inside the skin—like a dedicated “VST bay” or compartment—so the controls stay visible and accessible during a set.
Has anyone found a workaround for this, or seen a custom skin that gets close?

One I just thought of [a bit late since fx has just had a huge overhall,... but maybe not too late]
like ducking echo is tied to the xf or upfader but,
all stems tied to stem kill [either pad or dial]
seems like an easy one and I don't think it's been done elsewhere

I use a couple of forgotten about features that could use with some minor tweeks:
MixFX Echo Out... I use this a lot. I mapped the button from the Basic skin over to my personalized skin based on the Performance skin and I use it way too much. So here are the things I wish for :
1. 1 Beat rule: on the S11 the Smooth Echo can be set where you need to cut the music for a full beat or half beat before activating. This comes in really handy when scratching. I have to turn it off when scratching otherwise all my scratches have an echo. It would also help having parameter control to echo out with a different setting that just full beat as it is default of changin the BPM of the upcoming track.
Next up : FX on Stems : I use the pad to assign the specific stems the effects go on, that isn't the issue. My issue is that when I use it to filter out the instrumental and percussion and leave the vocal, I try to combine it with the Echo Out MixFX with the crossfader and it doesn't apply. I would be aswesome to have the MixFX run separately from the StemFX when doing this type of transition. The workaround is to move to the Stem section and hit the Vocal Echo stem effect but that is an extra 4 button presses.
Scratch Mode : Almost everyone who has worked with Serato has the same complaint : Virtual DJ is terrible for scratching. Before doing a scratch routine I need to turn off Auto Sync on Play, Smart Cue, Master Tempo, and about 10 other settings in order for the scratching to work correctly, and even then, when I miss one it still messes up. So it would be nice to have a single button that kills all the "smart" settings so that I can use my Rane12s without issues.
More MixFX would be nice too. DJay Pro expanded beyond what VDJ has had for years and it would be nice to see an expansion there to include stem swaps and things like that.

I agree mostly with everything said except this
Because it's simply not true - There are many DMC champs who have done routines on VirtualDJ effortlessly, and I personally have no issues with VirtualDJ for trying any scratch routine or juggle routine using DVS vs Serato (the DVS system on VirtualDJ is actually pretty good minus certain quirks with the BPM readout and that has improved a lot since I originally moved over - it's definitely usable).
You problem is not the scratch engine. Your problem is most likely your settings:. And on that note you did say this:
Just switch all the settings under smart and auto off, put the scratchQuality 30, pitchQuality to 4, and you should be good to go (just never put anything smart or auto on unless you know what it does, and you have it mapped for toggle accordingly).

I like the new lyrics visualizer but as far as an update I'd like to see is related to how it works if you enable it on the master vs the individual decks.
I noticed if you enable it on the master and say have deck 1 displaying video but then begin to play something on deck 2 to preview even though that video is not in the master the lyrics of that deck will still play in the master.
It would be nice if I could have it only show the lyrics of the currently showing video that is in the master at the time. When I use video effects I tend to find it easier to just click it on and off in the master then each individual deck. Just my video DJ style I suppose but would be nice if it worked this way.

Reverb Tail Regression in VDJ 2026
Subject: Request: Restore Reverb Decay from Build 8962 (VDJ 2026)
Description:
The new Reverb effect has changed significantly between the early 2026 builds and the current standard release.
Build 8962: Had a long, immersive tail/decay—ideal for "Reverb Out" transitions.
Build 9004: The tail is now "choked" and much shorter, behaving like the VDJ 2024 (Part 2) engine.
Since this is a new 2026 effect, it is not available in the Legacy folder.
Request:
Please restore the Build 8962 decay characteristics or add a "Decay/Tail Length" parameter to the effect settings.
Software Versions:
Current: VirtualDJ 2026 (Build 9004)
Target Sound: VirtualDJ 2026 (Build 8962)

echo out that changes with the tempo...
would it be possible to have an echo out that would stay locked to the master tempo so that when i changed the pitch during the echo out, the echo speed will also change with it?
the current one will just say at the tempo i was at when i pressed it.

LYRICS REQUEST
i have been using this effect now and see a number of ways it may be improved:
would it be possible to have a black bar behind the text with adjustable opacity and color
ability to make this bar, just behind the words, or all the way across the screen
a button to centre align the text (right left)
also, it would be good if there was a way to adjust the XY position of the text via sliders or knobs, and set the font size with a number. the current box-drag is hard to use when the text is the size of subtitles (which is probably a common size) you often end up resizing it by accident when you try to move it.
a dynamic mode that simply highlighted the words with a color as they are spoken would be great.
also the words hang on the screen long after the line ends (during a guitar solo for example the last line of lyrics stays there the whole time) would be nice if the word went away after a period of time.
thankyou virtual dj for everything you do for us DJs
