Topic: Virtual DJ LE 7.4 no longer recognises my DJ console after 30 minutes

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hello.

I have a Hercules DJ Console 4-Mx with Virtual DJ LE.
Yesterday I updated both my drivers and Virtual DJ LE to the latest versions. After that, I managed to mix for a bit (30 minutes), until suddenly my DJ console no longer responds to my actions. Virtual DJ continues to work however, and the music also continues playing. It just stops recognising my DJ console for some unknown reason.

This continued to happen very frequently, and i'm starting to get very annoyed of it. The only way to fix it, is by unplugging the USB cable and restarting Virtual DJ Pro. I'm using Windows 8.1 on my Dell XPS 15-L502x Notebook. Maybe you guys can give me some assistance with this issue?

Thanks in advance,

Jordy

What is the exact version number of your VDJ Pro licence?

Maybe you want to register your licence here
http://www.virtualdj.com/users/edit.html

After that, you are able to download the latest updates for VirtualDJ Pro and get access to tools, effects, skins and other goodies.

LOL...hope this was a typo...;-)

Thanks for the responses. Yes, the Virtual DJ Pro mention was a typo, I do not have a license (yet).

I've just installed this driver. Unfortunatly, the problem seems to persist: around 20-30 minutes of mixing, the audio abruptly stops, and I cannot control Virtual DJ with my DJ console anymore (Virtual DJ continues to work using my mouse, however).

It sounds to me as though you're using a trial version of the PRO software which only allows for 20minutes of playback with a controller and advanced sound config.

Be sure you are using the LE that came with your controller. Where did you get the update from?? It is unusual for LE versions to receive updates.

Re-install from the original disc or download that came with your controller and then let us know if the problem persists.

Version 7.0 is on the originial disc. Because i've had this problem for quite a long time, my first though was that version 7.0 does not work correctly on Windows 8.1, hence i replaced it with version 7.4 (I downloaded this version from the VirtualDJ website itself, after registering my DJ console).

Just out of curiosity, I've uninstalled Virtual DJ 7.4 yesterday, and I replaced it with the version on the disc. It didn't help however; 20-30 minutes of playing and the DJ console once again doesn't get recognised anymore.

do you also have a version of the home free installed ? Mabye you launch the wrong exe..?
(sorry but had at least to ask..;-)

And did you follow the links i have posted..?

Yes i have followed all your steps. :)

Anyway, i want to report that this is probably a hardware-related issue. I've replaced some of the cables and tweaked with my speakers, and managed to get the audio playing for a whopping 2 hours.

good to hear...so just give a call if there are further issues..;-)

I WANT MY licenses NUMBER HOW CAN U TELL ME HOW I GOT MY licenses NUMBER..........

Please do not SHOUT.

Your license number will be provided when you purchase the software.

If you have an LE version that came with a controller, then the license number will usually be on the CD cover.

If you bought a used controller then the VDJ license has probably already been registered to the previous owner, and cannot be transferred.
