Topic: Hybrid hard drives in a MAC - Good or bad?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

So I am getting a newer Macbook Pro and am upgrading the memory from 8 to 16, but I have a question about replacing the hard drive. I want to replace it with a Seagate Solid State Hybrid Drive (1TB SATA). Anyone feel like this is not a good hard drive to use and run with Virtual? Does the hybrid part cause any issues?

Thanks in advance!

I have a seagate momentus xt 750gb hybrid hard drive inside my macbook pro. No issues in fact it runs better than any 7200 rpm hdd i ever put in it, though not as fast as an SSD but still pretty quick.

Nice. Thanks for the info. Yeah, I may go with this Hybrid drive, seems pretty decent.
