Hi, I have VDJ Home 7 and I would like to be able to cue the next track on CD2 whilst playing CD1 BUT without others hearing it. I have a "Y" cable attached to my headphones output and have speakers in one and headphones in the other BUT i can still hear the cue of the next track on the speakers. Is there a way of cueing (PFL) without others hearing please.
Thanks

Yes you can. You need to make a change to the configuration of the sound output tho. Have a look in the VDJ Manual. What you need to do is to configure your computers sound card in the VDJ Config to output the PFL on one channel and the master out on the other. The signal will be Mono tho. The only other thing you can do is to look into purchasing one of the versions of VDJ which allows you to use an external multi channel sound card or look into one of the many controllers which come with a bundled version of VDJ.
It is well worth taking the time to go through the Manual and also look at the VDJ Wiki (find under the Community/Wiki and Manuals tab on the website) most of the answers to issues you may come across will be there.

It's also worth mentioning that you can't just use any Y cable - it has to be a specific type designed for DJ use, that sends each channel to a separate socket. The standard splitters will just give you two copies of the same signal.

What kind of soundcard are you using?
If it's a 4.1 (or above) you could use the 4.1 soundcard option in VDJ.
Plug your speakers to the front output und the headphone to the rear output.
And don't forget to activate 4.1 or 5.1 output in your windows audio configuration.

Hi PachN, I am using a MacBook Air with its standard sound card, no 4in1 for me :(
Hi grooindj - Its a normal "Y" cable and you're right, all it does is gives me 2 copies of the same signal :(
Hi Dazmax, I will read the manual and see what I can do, I have selected the MONO SEPERATED option on the sound card and then the BUILT-IN OUTPUT option as the only other option I have is the Airplay and again no luck.
It seems that I will need extra hardware :(
Thanks for all your support

While using just the Home Free you only can connect the Y-cable with the MacAir Headphone output.
Connect the Y-cable with your speakers AND the Headphones.
Switch inside Home Free soundcard config to: Laptop - Split signal with a Y-cable
Thats it :-)

Hi Haui70, I have tried that and as groovindj said, all it does is give me 2 versions of the same sound, both through the speakers and headphones.

So it looks like your Config is ok and as suggested by Groovin, you need to go and get hold of a Y L R splitter cable as opposed to one which is intended to provide two stereo signals.

You should order a "Griffin DJ Cable" .

What you need it a Y-Splitter Stereo to 2 X Mono
Not all Y-Cables are like that. Some of them route the same signal on both sides (e.g. to connect multiple headphones for more than 1 users to listen to the same music)
