Topic: CBG doesn't line up with the actual beat

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi All - I'm a casual user of VDJ and have been using the free version for a few years now, I decided to get a Wego Controller and am just having fun. I'm not a professional or looking to be one.

With that said, I've had some recent issue, that I just figured out what the problem was ( I was train-wrecking over and over, and I'm usually decent), problem is that the CBG, the beat blocks, are not in alignment with the actual beat. I have never had this problem before. Is there a setting to correct this ? Like I said, I've been using this program for a long time, and never have I ran into where the beat and the blocks are out of alignment. I know I can go into the BPM setting and manually fix it, but there has to be another way, because I never had to do this before.

Thanks !

if you set the position of the track on the first beat you can tap the bpm button once to move the start position of the grid. Just don't press it twice or you will change the bpm of the track.

Thank you I noticed that, is that something new ? I've probably been using VDJ since 2008 and never had to do that before.

the beat detection is pretty good at guessing the bpm, but not always the best at placing the grid on the first beat depending on the style of track you are scanning so it's sometimes necessary, but I have mapped an encoder to move the grid exactly a half a beat to make it quicker to realign the grid, again that can only be done in pro though.
