Could you not achieve this my turning off smart loop, hitting loop in at the beginning of the track, and then loop out just before the end of the track? You could probably script something that does this and map it to a button (although I'll leave this to the more accomplished scripters in the community!)

This depends on what version of VDJ you have.
If it is the same song every time, you could make a specific length loop for that track
figure out how many beats there are from your start point to your end point
(you can figure this out by, end point (time) minus start point (time) divided by 60 , times that by bpm
(there are other ways to find this out but that's the simplest to explain)
let's say it's 640 beats
then go the the mappers part and set up a key to be a long loop
loop 640
Move your track to the beginning and press your loop key then play
you could go even further and whilst playing this long loop you could record it as a sample.
