Really strange problem and im trying to work out if my laptop has the problem or the mixtrack pro has a problem because iv only had it a few weeks.
The first week or so have been completely fine then suddenly, when i startup my laptop and connect the mixtrack pro its says everything is connected fine and ready to use.
I then can select tracks as normal and all the buttons and faders move as they should on the laptop screen.
Then i load a track onto deck A and B and begin playing if the scratch selector is off there is no problem with playing the decks, but when i select the scrtach selector and hover my hand above either jog wheel the track stops and then begins again to play again when i move it away, its so strange because i dont think that the jog wheel is activated by shadows !!!
If anyone could help that would be great, id be looking to get a refund of the seller if it is a hardware problem because iv only used it a few times, so time is crucial.

The jogwheel sensitivity may be set far too high.
Check the user manual to see whether this can be adjusted. If not, then the jogwheel may be faulty and you should return it for replacement or refund.
Also, make sure that you are not placing it near anything that could interfere with the touch sensors, such as over the top of cables, etc.

Ok thanks i bought them of ebay so not much chance of a refund, and iv looked and the mixtrack has a jogwheel sensitivity but only when your actually holding it, im floating my hand over it and the music is stopping, i dont see how a shadow can stop the song from playing !!! there is no contact with the mixtrack, maybe virtual DJ problem ?

This can happen if the sensitivity setting is set far too high. On some controllers, it can detect your hand near it even without touching it.
The sensitivity setting will usually be a hardware sensitivity knob on the controller itself (Usually located on the back of most controllers), or it may be possible to set/change this by pressing a special sequence of buttons or a 3rd party tool supplied by the manufacturer (Refer to the user manual and/or visit/contact the manufacturer http://www.numark.com for further details.)
VirtualDJ itself cannot set how sensitive the touch sensor is or know where your hand actually is without the hardware telling it via MIDI messages. Adjustments within VirtualDJ are to optionally adjust how fast jogwheel movement and scratch response is and these adjustments are only available in the full VirtualDJ Pro or 20 day Pro trial.
Most likely the seller has unfortunately sold you defective and/or damaged hardware.

I see you've already asked Numark on their community forum.
Best wait for a reply from them.
