I'm bored so I figure I'd make some tutorials for experienced DJs who want to learn new ways to mix. So here's the first one.
First off, give a listen to these samples, then I'll describe how to pull them off below:

Example 1:
This technique works best with Master Tempo enabled. Bring in song #2 at the same BPM as #1, even though it's too fast/slow. Then in the middle of the mix slowly adjust the BPMs of the two songs at the same time until song #2 is at the right speed. This takes a LOT of practice to pull off. You could also do it the easy way and map a button to "pitchlock". This will lock the pitch sliders so that they adjust at the same time whilst only having to move one of them.
Example 2:
This technique involves mixing without beatmatching. It's essentially a hard cut with a little flair. Set a cue point at the drop of song #2 and tap your cue button to the beat of of song #1, dropping it right at the end of the bar. If you have turntables or a controller with motorized platters, you could also scratch into song #2 in a similar manner. See my "Hard Cut - Scratch In" clip in the SoundCloud link for an example of this.
Example 3:
This final example requires a setup with an adjustable pitch range and Master Tempo turned off. Set the pitch range to 100% and cue song #2 up with the pitch set to -100%. (Go ahead and press play because the song won't do so until you adjust the pitch.) At the end of the bar in song #1, activate the "brake" effect, then slowly bring the pitch of song #2 back to normal. I like to use this effect when transitioning styles or genres.
Hope this helps expand your creativity as a DJ. Happy mixing!
