I remember the MAX MIX series have some of them somewhere up under the ceiling. sure was a bit harder to do stuff when I was a kid

I know from direct experience what it was like to do something like that. I used to make mixes myself the same way with 1/4" tape, a sampler, Atari ST computer, rack mount effects units....
It's easier to do now, when everything can be done with one computer program and it's always possible to undo something or change it without needing to start over again. It's still time consuming though.
