Just a heads up to anyone looking for some good, small, lightweight, powered speakers.
EV zlx series is pretty good. I purchased 2 of them yesterday and did a show with them last night. I have to say that I was impressed with them.
I own the EV elx115p's as well. I also own the QSC kw181's along with some Harbinger powered subs and some behringer 12" powered tops.
I got tired of lugging 15's around with me. I use subs so there really was no reason for 15's. The zlx12p's really did a great job. They are inexpensive and I got them for below cost so I'm happy.
If you need small, light powered tops, check them out.

I've got the QSC K12's tops and the KW181 for bottoms on my mobile rig. Subs are nice, but the tops are crap. Vocals always have a fuzzy sound to them. Some might not notice it, but sound like crap to me. Had the Old Mackie 450's and thought they sounded way better. Looking to get rid of my k12's asap and will prob pick up some yorkville tops instead. Have to take a look at those EV's too.

The Yorkies are some VERY good tops. I don't know if the EV's compare but it's up to your own ear. (Sound is subjective)
I used the EV's again last night and again, I was impressed with them.
They are inexpensive speakers and they are super light at 34.3 pounds. They sounded CLEAR and CRISP with no distortion or breakup at LOUD volumes.
They have DSP with the ability to select your crossover point, you can adjust the lo and hi freq on the speaker itself.
I simply set them to "sub" mode and crossed them over at 100 to go with my KW181's and was happy with what I heard.

@djcity how do they compare to the live-x stuff?

It's a different sound but it's good. They are a bit airy sounding compared to the ELX. The ELX sounds slightly warmer. The cab of the ZLX is not made of wood like the ELX is but it has a brighter sound. If you use subs you will be happy with the clarity of them.

Do they get as loud as the ELX stuff?

I don't know. I have never maxed out either speaker.
