The new version of Deckadance DJ software (v2 public beta) includes a feature called GrossBeat which can program, automate and edit 8 different effects, including scratching.
You can actually program in (using a grid arrangement) a scratch routine and have it automatically play each time you press a button!

I see the GrossBeat functionality is also available as a VST plugin, so it could be used in VDJ too!

I can see from a producers point of view but as a Dj, hell no!! That's unacceptable.... the scratching part anyways.

Well it hasn't taken the world by storm. The plugin's been available since 2009 from what I can find online.

True, I have producer friends who have used that vst. It's just hard for me to respect things like this when it took me years to learn to scratch, still learning and now a kid can move a line, hit a button and sou d lime me!! Weak sauce all day long!! I even frown on cue point juggling but that's just me.....

I don't think VDJ could use gross beat... I downloaded the beta earlier tonight an have been playing with it since. gross beat modifies the actual transport of the track it's not a DSP that effects a sample of the song, it's kinda weird and I'm not really a fan. The macro knobs on the other hand are great! shame about the lack of good effects though and no VST's in the beta so I cant try out glitch which would be the deciding factor on switching. the GUI is good especially the way they represent loops on the waveform and all the extra information the wave's have to let you see the bars, and because it lights up the down beat it's easier to read than VDJ's terrible big marker on 1, I like that you can choose what extra features you can show. The one thing that seems over done is the browsers folder navigation which takes up so much space for not much gain over a standard folder tree.

Yeah, that's the integrated version - and seeing as Imageline make Deckadance and GrossBeat, that'd be easy for them.
It's also a VST plugin though, so it must be able to work in a normal plugin fashion.
Maybe I should d/l the VST demo and try it with VDJ...

BOOOO!
"oh look at me, I can scratch....hold on let me push this button....ahhhffffrrreeesssshhhhh" See? Don't I sound good on the cut?
no offense but, button pushers are not tablists or scratch dj's.
It's like those old crap numark mixers that came with the "transform" buttons....come on, learn the art or just leave it alone.
next you'll want auto play...oh wait...........

Amen Brother.
Earn your stripes soldier....learn to cut on a mixer and two turntables.
Auto Scratch to a DJ is what Auto Tune is to a singer, FAKE. Don't get me started, the industry just keeps pushing the trues further and further away.
I won't use this application, nor will I use auto sync. Try cutting and mixing with your ears, learn the time signatures, learn the patterns that many DJ's have spent hours if not years mastering. this is what I call Controller syndrome, everything with the push of a button, you never have to learn anything. Sometimes technology makes us more stupid than smart.

Same here.
Works fine in Ableton Live though, so it's down to VDJs VST plugin "connection" rather than any issue with the plugin itself.
