Topic: Add "Gouping" field to data that is gathered from the ID3 tag

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Due to the new version 5.5 of MIK, I would like to be able to see the "Gouping" field on my ID3 tags in VDJ. Not sure, but VDJ does not seem to be able to see this data.

What would be better is if MIK gave us a choice of where to store the 'energy level' info...

Someone has already left that suggestion over on the MIK forum, and I've seconded it.

I don't think any of the testers suggested using the grouping tag, yet that's what they chose - only to find Traktor can't read it.

So with VDJ that's two major DJ progs that can't see the new data. MIK need to change it, not Atomix.

Agreed, but they seemed to shut off Dev at 5.5. They even said "maybe in 6"... Figured VDJ may be able to add the field fairly easy. But agreed 100%, that software is not very flexible. So many fields and we are limited to just a few.

I fogot to add, just as a test. In VDJ, click on File info on any song you have in the browser. I think you could agree though that there are not many fields that MIK could write to, that VDJ also supports.

I already had to manually move my Key results to the Composer field. So I don't have to, manually add that info into VDJ later, in order to sort by that field. But if you see, that is really the last field that VDJ reads from the tag, that we can still mess with. Before, I was putting the key at the end of the song name and then transfering it tothe VDJ only "Field 2". How come they can't support the Key tag like the others...

That being said, it is also insane that MIK does not offer a 0 option in front of the single digits for proper sorting too. You would think by v5 that they would have figured that out... That suggestion was rasied on thier forum. yet they don't seem to acknowledge the issue.
