Topic: Why Will My External Hard Drive No Longer Load In Virtual DJ?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Virtual DJ is no longer loading the contents of my external hard drive as I once did after adding 15-20 video files. I can open the files on the computer & drag them into VDJ & they work fine but when I click on the external drive on the far left in VDJ, it shows the drive but won't expand or open any of the files as it once did. Has this ever happen to anyone else? Can someone please help me with this?

Hmmm... I would check to see if the database is still in the root folder for that drive. It should be named "VirtualDJ Local Database v6".

It's possible that the drive is corrupted or failing.

Try accessing it via Windows Explorer and if you can access it, try playing a few files at random in Windows Media Player or similar.

Perform a scan disk check on the disk (Computer -> Right-click on drive -> Properties -> Tools -> Check now...)

Make sure that you have a full backup of the files on the drive (You should already have this anyway as a matter of course - See http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Backup%20your%20music%20collection.html )

Ok. Thanks yall. .
