Hey guys I just bought a Hercules MK4 and I was planning on buying Virtual DJ Pro 7. I know that I have to buy the pro version in order to use my controller, but I was wondering if it is worth the 200 hundred dollars? I have been viewing the forums and I have been seeing alot of problems where virtual DJ will just crash out of nowhere. Have a lot of people been experiencing this problem? Have there been any solutions to them? Also if this is in the wrong forum I'm sorry. I'm still new to the forums and virtual DJ itself. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

if you understand the software well, you should not have any problems... I DJ at the wedding, bars, clubs and house parties and VDJ never let me down... Just make sure you got powerful enough PC, specially for video mixing!

I'm not sure what problems you have been reading about but I have been using VDJ Pro 7 on my macbook for over a year now & it has never crashed on me.... & yes it is worth it...due 2 the fact that you can download skins/plugins/& effects.... Oh & not to mention you get free upgrades...

you just need to know how to set up your computer properly for dj applications, that's what the faq and all the setup threads are for...for the amount of things a pro licence unlocks it is definately worth the coin

Hello, Virtual DJ is definately worth it!! I use a gaming PC that I OPTIMIZED just for mixing under a diff profile of course. Just like the person said above. Just be sure you have something powerfull, at least 2ghz Range and up CPU with 4gb RAM and a dedicated Vid Card if your going to do Video mixing for a PC at least. I use a PC with Virtual DJ Pro and it has never ever let me down, I can go on with gigs for 8 hours and up, and the software has never ever let me down so far. And that's with the full works, using loops, effects, sampler, EQ, Gains, ETC.. it keeps on running without a hitch.. For the PC side i will always reccommend a Laptop that's built for Gaming with a dedicated Gfx Card. Follow the optimization Guides also, it will help alot thanks to the great support of the Virtual DJ Team and Community. Don't just get a NEW powerfull PC and expect it to run great with all the bloatware and virus scanners running on the background, PC must be optimized.. Keep spinning and Have funn..

Going Pro is definatly worth it...
After optimizing your laptop/pc for dj-ing it all works like a train.

Knowing what threads you are referring to would help, but personally I see very very few crash reports.

I DJ with VDJ 6 nights a week, 4 hours a time, running video (often HD), VST audio effects, running various video plugins together etc, I've not had a single crash, I don't think I've had a crash with VDJ since 2005 (many versions ago), and it wasn't in a clinical environment it was while messing around at home, never happened at a gig.
The trick is to avoid being a jack ass DJ using your home computer for gigs, you need a dedicated machine and you shouldn't multitask with your machine while playing, it shouldn't be connected to the internet unless under controlled circumstances, you need to optimise your machine for DJ'ing purposes, you know the rest.

It depends also on what you plan to do with VDJ. Are you just going to mess around with it in your bedroom or at small little house parties? If so, the LE software that came with your controller may be sufficient. If you plan on playing out somewhere at an actual gig with alot of people, or if you're looking to add more effects, or skins...you need to have Pro. Stability wont matter whether you're on LE or Pro...what matters is your computer, as others have said. Doesnt matter if you're on LE or Pro...if your computer specs are below the minimum requirements....you will have issues regardless.
However, if you do have a good computer, once you upgrade to Pro, you'll ask yourself over and over why you didnt do it sooner!

I am a new user but from what I have experienced to this point I really like this software.

So many factors contribute to other peoples insability claims. Like Pirated media, bad hardware, cracked version, ETC. It is more than just the softwareitself is what I am getting at. You do need to take each case with a grain of salt.
If you get good media, have a known good installation of VDJ (straight from Automix), computer meets or exceeds min specs and set it up well, you will have no problems.
We are on this forum to learn and work through problems. Forums are not for posting reviews of software. Which is why you don't see overwhelming positives.. Because you are looking for that advice, VDJ 7.05b (latest release) works great for me. Very stable and can fit almost any application. It was worth the investment to me.

I think a final conclusion based on VirtualDJ users always will be positive.
I mean, we are proud to use it and love the software.
I belive you should do a pool at common forums, a "free zone of interest", and compare the results.
Uh, nevermind... you are Pro already...
