If the mappers file you've downloaded is .exe for windows or .dmg for mac, you don't need to place it anywhere just double click the file and it will extract directly into the right place. If it is an XML files, have to copy it the directory where VDJ Mappers & Devices are stored.

Please follow the path below for Windows 7:
Go to: MY COMPUTER / LIBRARIES / DOCUMENTS / VIRTUALDJ / MAPPERS, then paste the files that is name mapper .XML files here.
Go to: MY COMPUTER / LIBRARIES / DOCUMENTS / VIRTUALDJ / DEVICES, then paste the files that is name definition .XML files here.

Please follow the path below for Mac OSX:
Go to: MAC HD / USERS / DOCUMENTS / VIRTUALDJ / MAPPERS, then paste the mapper .XML files here.
Go to: MAC HD / USERS / DOCUMENTS / VIRTUALDJ / DEVICES, then paste the files that is name definition .XML files here.

Is it possible to get a mapper for the Hercules mp3 e2 player and put it into the VDJ home free edit? Just wondering......becasue it only limits me to 10 minutes of mixing time.

No, Home FREE does not support using MIDI controllers except for 10 minutes at a time as a trial of the full Pro.

Mappers are only available to registered licensed users of VirtualDJ Professional who have purchased the software, but no mapper is needed for the MP3e2 because it's already natively supported in the full VirtualDJ Pro.

You can upgrade from VirtualDJ LE (Limited Software) to the full Pro at a discount by going to http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html

Thanks for the comparison link that was super helpful.
